POSITION SUMMARY:

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory Compliance.

This position will direct and supervise all shipping, receiving and warehouse activities associated with production materials and finished product handling. Areas of responsibilities include hiring, training, and directing all employees to ensure that raw materials and finished products are properly handled and delivered to internal and external customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Insures regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Adhere to all safety polices and procedures.
  • Supervise and coordinate unloading of inbound production materials, maintain orderly inventory areas and load outbound shipments in accordance with the highest levels of safety, accuracy and productivity.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operations of all materials handling equipment.
  • Establish daily work schedules for receiving and loading personnel and ensure that the jobs are assigned effectively and are completed safely and on a timely basis.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of finished products and control procedures to ensure proper storage and rotation of product. Ensure optimum space utilization while maintaining a clean, neat and orderly work environment.
  • Supervise employees within parameters of company policies relating to company work rules, absenteeism, discipline, payroll and terminations, while maintaining proper documentation.
  • Manage material and labor resources in a manner consistent with variable and fixed budget objectives.
  • Enter information into a computer system on amounts of product shipped, where product was shipped to, and how product was returned.
  • Provide direct contact with distribution points, Supervisors to coordinate changes, shortages and special orders. Routinely visit distribution points to ensure proper handling methods.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports which measure performance objects.
  • Lead and conduct safety training and make sure all employees have required safety equipment.
  • Promote team environment and facilitate cross functional teams to drive Safety, Quality, and Productivity improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Computer literacy, including MS Word and Excel, SAP/TRM software.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate Work Team meetings.
  • Ability to identify and implement solutions using the team process.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including verbal and written.
  • Effectively supervising and coaching employees
