Position Summary:

Dry Ingredient Operators ensure the correct ingredient is being used in the current product and manually loads 45-55 pound bags and/or boxes of ingredients into large feed hoppers.

Open schedules are: 1 opening for Sunday - Tuesday 5am - 5pm and Wednesday 5am - 11am 1 opening for Sunday - Tuesday 5pm - 5am and Wednesday 5pm- 11pm 2 opening for Wednesday 11am - 5pm and Thursday - Saturday 5am - 5pm 1 opening for Wednesday 11pm - 5am and Thursday - Saturday 5pm -5am

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Before start up checks all equipment and work areas to insure safety and sanitation conditions are correct and ready for use. Assembles and disassembles equipment for sanitation purposes.
  • Properly start up and shut down dry ingredient feed system
  • Ensures correct ingredients are being used in current product.
  • Checks and documents the correct feed rate of ingredients into product
  • Responsible for changing out ingredients based on product demand
  • Maintains cleanliness of Dry Ingredient platform and all associated pieces of equipment
  • Performs sanitation of equipment with the use of LOTO
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to insure efficient operation of the plant
  • Properly maintains daily production and Quality data sheets.

  • Education and Experience Required:

  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Previous forklift experience
  • Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to walk or stand for up to 12 hours per shift
  • Must be able to reach above shoulders and climb/work off ladder for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment, high heat, or humidity for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and feel for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word
  • Must be able to make fine distinctions by sound
  • Must be able to distinguish object or equipment visually
