Job Details


A Production Technician is a key part of the Production department and team. As a Production Technician I, you will be required to provide the support needed for the efficient operation of the Peanut Butter Department.

It is the responsibility of all employees to follow GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices, follow all food safety standards and initiatives, maintain proper standards of quality control, sanitation, and safety to ensure continuity of operations and provide an acceptable level of customer service. It is the responsibility of every employee to keep their work area clean, minimizing the potential for product contamination. Must report to work-station on time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently direct third-party trucks to appropriate receiving/shipping docks. Use forklift to unload materials from trucks and stage in correct storage areas. Load finished goods into outbound trucks according to loading requirements.
  • Support material handling to lines/machines by forklift, pallet jack, or manual feed process to ensure ongoing operations. Use forklift or pallet jack to deliver finished products to storage area
  • Safely operate multiple production machines/lines. Perform set up, machine feeding, ingredient handling, troubleshooting, ongoing quality testing .
  • Sanitation - Perform sanitation duties as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule or on an ad hoc basis, including following and understanding Sanitation work instructions, signing off after completion and completing chemical training.
  • Quality Assurance – must perform Aflatoxin and chunk testing hourly and accurately record results, along with various other types of testing. Performing salt titrations in a timely manner, check customer coding requirements, production run sheets and jar and tray coders to verify correct codes are used. Must calibrate scales for accuracy, mix methanol solution and prepare developer solution at shift start
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Education and Experience Required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Prior manufacturing experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work in crowded spaces for per shift duration
  • Must be able to stand for shift duration
  • Must be able to walk for shift duration
  • Must be able to reach and grasp for shift duration
