Position Overview

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Planner position leverages advanced technical knowledge to serve as the liaison between operations and the maintenance department. Department responsibility is for planning, scheduling, kitting, and coordination of all preventative maintenance and daily work order activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance department by directing activity of contractors and maintenance personnel through the execution of all planned downtime work, PM programs, work orders, MRO inventory organization, and machine-specific maintenance procedures

Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects and development of plant performance measurements

Assist with facility governmental compliance – including air permit, storm water permit, Hazardous waste permit, Universal waste and other environmental and compliance requirements

In partnership with the Maintenance Manager, assist in the development of preventive maintenance routines for all areas of the plant including scheduling estimates, evaluation of PM standards, and completion timeliness

Leverage data to perform downtime and root cause analysis to understand equipment failure rates

Share critical information cross functionally to ensure minimal disruption to other departments (Ops, QA, Sanitation, Safety)

Identify and implement cost saving ideas in maintaining the plant by managing the preventive maintenance program for the production lines and building maintenance

Maintain documentation necessary for operations including tracking work orders, requisitions, activity reports and daily log book

Support the MRO team with parts acquisition and inventory management

Other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution

5+ years’ maintenance or plant operations experience

Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extra hours, as needed

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

Previous experience with CMMS systems

Previous maintenance planning experience

2-year vocational or technical degree

Effective verbal, written, interpersonal and instructional skills

Basic computer skills

Credibility and effective leadership skills

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities

Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds

Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment

Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift

Must be able to bend and crawl for 7+ hours per shift

Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift

Must be able to stand for 6+ hours per shift

Must be able to walk for 6+ hours per shift

Must be able to reach and grasp up to 6+ hours per shift
