Bob Evans Farms is looking for a Yard Hostler/Utility Driver to join our Springfield, Ohio Transportation team.

This position is responsible for moving trailers around the transportation center yard in a safe efficient manner.

Accountabilities

1. All Utility Drivers will possess a valid Class A CDL.
2. Utility drivers will be “on call’ for their shift to be assigned any duty necessary.
3. Cover short/local runs or deliver backhauls as needed.
4. Fill in as Yard back up in the event of an absence.
5. PIT certification required for Cross Dock assistance.
6. Shuttle trailers as directed.
7. Help with Yard duties when not on assignment.
8. Help the shop manager with picking up/delivering tractors and trailers to dealers.
9. Use the ELD system to log HOS.
10. Maintain cleanliness of yard to include washing all equipment and trucks.
11. Will operate pallet jack/forklift.
12. The “spotting” of trailers at different dock locations at our facility and our partners at the Lineage Distribution center
13. Maintain and check all reefer unit temperatures of all of the company’s owned and leased trailers.
14. Keep a record of all reefer units’ fluid levels and settings and adjust according to shipping demands and schedules.
15. Check all load paperwork for accuracy as well as verifying that all trailers have their registered seals in place.
16. All other miscellaneous yard and warehouse as assigned. Will be required to do various local runs depending on freight volumes and demands.
17. Must have ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and shipping manifests.

QUALITY REQUIRMENTS

1. All Utility drivers will be required to complete the FDA required training on FSMA.
2. All Utility drivers will be required to wash trailers when required, or there is dwell time. Document per FSMA regulations.
3. Must possess a class “A” CDL Driver’s License.
