The Production Lead is responsible for providing leadership and line supervision of the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers , monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets, Key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the production schedule.

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

The Production Lead is responsible for providing leadership and line supervision of the team, coordinating their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers , monitoring any issues, and ensuring production targets, Key performance indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the production schedule.

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

  • Assists Production Supervisor with daily activities of assigned shift, ensuring product adheres to quality standards
  • Communicates with previous shift regarding any challenges and opportunities on the production lines to prepare for the shift.
  • Conducts walkthroughs throughout the shift to verify safety, housekeeping, and quality compliance.
  • Assists production department key roles to prepare production lines for scheduled changeovers.
  • Orders and inspects raw materials prior to changeovers to ensure correct inventories for production runs. Performs first pass quality checks after changeovers to prevent non-conforming product.
  • Supports Production Supervisor end of shift production reports.
  • Records and communicates downtime to the supervisor
  • Assists in the training & development of the team and individual goals, objectives, operational standards, and expectations for Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Builds collaborative partnerships within departmental lines to achieve departmental and team results.
  • Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Adheres to Quality work practices, follows GMP’s, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained.
  • Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Always ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
