The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading and directing all maintenance work of shift maintenance crew including emergency repair, reactive maintenance and proactive maintenance activities. The position will ensure successful completion of daily maintenance work scheduled or unscheduled by partnering with operational and support team members. The position will assist in completing root cause analysis process by collecting evidences necessary on shift to move the organization to become a proactive organization. The role is responsible in supporting safety, quality/ food safety and performance KPI results. This role must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed. Function as the Element 4 team lead for Norfolk SRMP.
This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial operations, Plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract two-digit numbers, to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and various weight measurements, volume and distances.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to endure daily excessive walking, standing, crouching, lifting (excess of 60lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment may be loud and require hearing protection. Special care must be taken when working with or around microbes and chemicals. Safety material are provided and Personal Protective Equipment should be worn where applicable (lab and production floor). Must be able to work in 80 to 100 degree temperatures.
