POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst II - Commercial is responsible for assisting in the preparation and analysis of all financial aspects of the Commercial Trade Channel including providing timely, accurate and reliable information to CAA and Commercial management personnel. This position entails contact with the Commercial Sales personnel, and other functional areas and may involve direct contact with customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and analysis of customer and product pricing, programs and profitability.
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations for CAA Management, Sales Management and General Manager of customer promotional related proposals submitted by Michael Foods Commercial Sales personnel.
  • Combine historical customer trends, knowledge of past and upcoming business drivers both within different areas of the company and external market conditions that lead to action and drive better decisions in the company's on-going effort to increase overall sales productivity.
  • Facilitate preparation and administration of customer agreements/commitments from information provided by Michael Foods Commercial Sales where necessary.
  • Perform general accounting duties including, but not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations and customer reconciliations
  • Participate in and support interim and annual audit activities
  • Participate in and support the new product development process
  • Review customer contracts and monitor/assure customer contract compliance
  • Preparation of monthly volume and expense reporting, and ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Participate in the preparation, analysis and communication of annual profit planning activities including volume, revenue and selling and marketing expense assumptions.
  • Preparation of monthly and annual Commercial sales forecast information, including volumes, revenue and selling expenses.
  • Monitor and assure business process compliance within the Commercial Trade Channel.
  • Successfully manage projects’ critical path towards business deliverables, under tight deadlines. Ability to co-ordinate and manage simultaneous data requests of varying size and scope
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting or finance.
  • 4+ years’ experience in financial analysis in manufacturing. Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting and analysis.
  • Advanced and efficient utilization of Microsoft Excel.
  • Aptitude for effective and efficient utilization of computer technologies including MS applications such as: Word, Access, and Power Point and ERP solutions.
  • Experience in commercial Foodservice Industry and SAP is strongly preferred
