Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensures that the facility and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and suitable for food production.

  • Clean equipment and production areas in preparation for food manufacturing as described on the Master Cleaning Schedule. This includes manual cleaning, Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Clean-Out of-Place (COP).
  • Disassemble and assemble machinery and equipment as required for cleaning and inspection.
  • Complete all required documentation following task completion.
  • Perform titration of sanitation chemicals to verify proper concentrations.
  • Utilize computer control screens for equipment and cleaning controls when required.
  • Other duties as assigned

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This job will require weekend work as scheduled. Schedule may flex according to cleaning needs.
  • Heavy lifting varies in weight of 40 -50 pounds.
  • Continuous walking, standing.
  • Ability to work in a wet environment.
  • Ability to recognize tasks that need to be completed and complete them.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Solid computer skills (MS Office, Word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Skill for recognition of new opportunities and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts
  • Must be willing to attend off-site training
  • Ability on a daily basis, walking, standing, crouching, lifting (25-35lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Areas of facility may include controlled temperature zones including areas with refrigeration and noise levels requiring PPE.
