We have the honor and responsibility of working in food – a critical infrastructure industry during this time of global crisis. We are working around the clock to keep inventory flowing to our retailers and to help feed the world. We are hiring at many of our manufacturing facilities; this is a great opportunity for those who are now available due to hours being cut at their regular job or being sent home from college temporarily.

Operates egg grading machine at maximum efficient speed for quality of eggs being run, while ensuring production schedule is met and quality of eggs produced meet standards.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for.
  • Sets machine computer based on weights, packing heads, etc.
  • Monitors packing unit operation to insure high levels of efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Remove shells from transfer and packer areas which may affect packaging quality standards.
  • Removes any dirty eggs from machines and or packages and runs them back through the wash cycle.
  • Regularly communicates with packing and quality assurance personnel to insure product quality standards are being met at all times.
  • Keeps floor around machines clean at all times.
  • Changes date coder daily and periodically observes print on carton.
  • Records all information necessary on machine operators log showing running efficiencies and or machine problems.
  • Raises washer covers at all break times to insure eggs are not cooked while sitting in the wash system.
  • Cleans tanks and screens when necessary.
  • Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Makes repairs and adjustments as needed on machines on a limited basis.
  • Responsible for minimizing loss and maximizing egg quality within scope of position.
  • Keeps maintenance and management informed of any abnormalities in product or equipment.
  • Maintain levels of cartons being fed to packers.
  • Monitors egg flow into machines to minimize loss and maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

    Level 3:

    A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Level 3:

    The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple correspondence. The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Level 3:

    The ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. The ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Level 2:

    The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral form. The ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
