This position always has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, to reduce product and process variability. Ensures regulatory compliance.

This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities daily. This includes the safe and efficient receipt, storage, pulling and shipment of product in a manner consistent with company, customer service, inventory control, safety and cost objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and, incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Insures regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Responsible for overseeing warehouse, distribution and inventory control functions at multiple facilities.
  • Must be able to communicate with production, quality, corporate and distribution personnel.
  • Responsible for prioritizing projects.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all materials handling equipment.
  • Schedule work hours and evaluate performance of each employee.
  • Assist Distribution Manager and Operations Manager with operational and capital budgeting.
  • Responsible for assisting in the planning of equipment, staffing and facility layout for all future operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control procedures to ensure proper storage and rotation of product.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Able to train and motivate department personnel.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Customer service capabilities
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Power Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification
