JOB SUMMARY:

Palletizers are responsible for transferring product to shipping pallets, recording finished product, box usages, and box labels on recap sheet. Must be able to properly operate taper, box label, and computer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  2. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  3. Demonstrate Good Manufacturing Practices.
  4. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  5. Inspect product for defects, foreign objects, etc.
  6. Keep work area clean.
  7. Places finished product on pallet using correct pallet configurations.
  8. Record finished product on recap sheet and in computer.
  9. Record daily box and box label usage.
  10. Provide proper boxes to line workers.
  11. Operate proper equipment (taper, box labeler, computer, etc.)
  12. Manage/communicate product changes.
  13. Obtain over run orders from master schedule.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Less than high school education.

EXPERIENCE:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Annual pallet jack training.

  • Basic computer and keyboard skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and work ethic.
  • Willingness to work efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.
