POSITION SUMMARY

The Inventory Clerk/Forklift Operator position coordinates material movement within the Klingerstown warehouse. This position supports the Supply Chain vision to have Michael Foods, Inc. be recognized by our customers, suppliers, and fellow Michael Foods employees as leaders of the most effective, responsive, and progressive Supply Chain organization in the food processing industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain an updated material inventory. This will include goods receipts, inventory adjustments, pallet transfers, creating/confirming transfer orders, and post goods issue of orders.
  • Will possess knowledge associated with material management and distribution. (FIFO)
  • Will conduct cycle counts recording the information in the SAP computer system. Will perform material counts as needed to justify production usage issues.
  • Will be forklift and power jack certified. Will possess the skills and knowledge to operate PIT equipment safely and efficiently in day-to-day operation. This includes pallet placement/removal and proper load patterns for loading outbound trailers.
  • Will schedule inbound/outbound delivery appointments and forward the information to appropriate individuals using micro-soft outlook.
  • Must possess knowledge and accountability for following warehouse procedures. Will follow general plant good manufacturing practices.
  • Accurately communicate information both written and verbally with other Michael Foods employees.
  • Will wear all required PPE equipment (bump cap, steel toed footwear, and insulated clothing).
  • Required to complete monthly people and food safety training.
  • Responsible to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and 6 months experience operating computers and general office equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of data entry procedures.
  • Knowledge of warehousing tracking procedures.
  • Knowledge of warehousing data distribution.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment
  • Ability to obtain a powered industrial truck (PIT) certification
  • Skills in communication and interpersonal relations as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
