POSITION SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and requires previous storeroom experience. The Storeroom Lead is responsible for pulling and kitting of both inventoried and direct purchased parts for planned work orders for the Maintenance Mechanics. The position will support the Storeroom, the Planner, Mechanics and Maintenance Supervisors. This position will have key administrative responsibilities which includes supporting the Maintenance organization with administrative/ clerical support. This position will have a direct influence tracking of MFI Maintenance Key performance indicators. Candidate must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision, work within set deadlines, ability to work with team members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote, and foster Michael Foods culture, values and principles.
  • Participate in company functions.
  • Must observe and practice all Department/Plant Procedures including wearing required PPE.
  • Adherence to plant safety, food Safety, sanitation standards, and following all GMP guidelines.
  • Storeroom Responsibilities
  • Utilize technical knowledge to review work orders, acquire parts to build kits, deliver kits to specified area.
  • Utilize SAP to update work order status and track inventory and part failures.
  • Collaborate with external part representatives to track part failures and determine root cause to improve part/machine efficiency in future state.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Planners, Mechanics, Maintenance Supervisors and the Store Room team to improve efficiency of the maintenance process cycle through use of technical knowledge, knowledge of inventory and effective kitting.
  • Collaborate with Store Room Clerk to ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, ability to receive and deliver goods, and assist in other assigned tasks in the Store room
  • Maintenance Admin Responsibilities (i.e. Weekly Manpower Schedule)
  • Attend meetings, scribe and distribute minutes, and be an active participant in assisting the Maintenance Manager in establishing key Store Room metrics.
  • Tracking monthly spend on labor and maintenance for the location.
  • Maintenance SOP/Documentation Management including assisting in the development of new SOPs, as well as updating & revising documentation and tracking document revision.
  • KPI Tracking: Track, monitor, and follow-up with maintenance planners and supervisors in terms of KPI data.
  • Prepare site store room for Maintenance Process Audit by the Corporate Reliability team & track audit follow-up through action log.
  • Provide insight and assistance to Store Room leadership on Capital Project needs.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    Post Secondary Education or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

    Six (6) months of general mechanic experience required.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Specific skills and abilities required that are not included in other sections:

  • Must be able to read and interpret various forms of documents and translate the data into a computerized inventory control system.
  • Prior Storeroom and Admin experience desired.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office, Excel & CMMS System (Preferably SAP)
  • Good math, oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to endure on a daily basis, excessive walking, standing, crouching, lifting(excess of 60lbs), twisting climbing and reaching
  • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment.
  • Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a “get-it-done, can-do” attitude and a self-starter.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with all team peers and customers.
  • Ability to organize and Maintain accurate records and data.
