We are hiring at many of our manufacturing facilities; this is a great opportunity for those who are now available due to hours being cut at their regular job or being sent home from college temporarily.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is to direct job assignments and support to the QA technicians and all areas of the plant. Train in all new line technicians. Assist in the flow of material and data between micro lab and production department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Train all new hires on essential job functions.
  • Direct and assist the Technicians as needed. Perform QA Line-Tech quality responsibilities.
  • Report any detected abnormalities to the Production Supervisor, QA Supervisor, Operators and Managers.
  • Insure that customer requirements, USDA and company standards are met. Insure that all USDA, FSIS, FDA, CN, Customer and Company specifications are met.
  • Disposition product that is out of specification (See QA Line Tech Job Description).
  • Perform laboratory duties: off grade, calibration, monitor product sampling, monitor or conduct swabbing program, and customer specifications.
  • Perform SAP functions. (Blocking product, locating pallet production time, Transfer orders)
  • Monitor Production and QA control charts, batch mixing.
  • Monitor label declared weights on all products produced.
  • Foster open communication with all departments.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with co-workers.
  • Ensure paper work is correctly done by Line Technicians and Line workers.
  • Knowing good from bad products on computer.
  • Probe temps of incoming or returned products.
  • Communicate with other supervisors when a problem has arises, and work together on it.
  • Performs basic cooking skills.
  • Ability to eat eggs to perform identity testing by using organoleptic skills (odor, taste, appearance).
  • Ability to give direction and make decisions.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Complete safety audits and enforce Safety policies.
  • Follow and enforce all GMP policies.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
  • Fill in for QA Supervisor, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:

  • Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to problem solve practical problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to coordinate the work of, and assign tasks to, hourly personnel.
  • PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish desirable
