Attune Foods LLC, a subsidiary of 8th Avenue Food and Provisions, is proudly located in the Pacific Northwest in beautiful Eugene, Oregon.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring food safety and food quality by working in partnership with the shift supervisor. The successful candidate will repair and maintain mechanical equipment used in the production and packaging of products. The Maintenance Tech will also need to regularly inspect equipment, structures or material; work on all requests for the various types of maintenance work assigned to them. Other tasks include effectively and safely operating standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical test equipment and perform preventative maintenance up to Semi-Annual PM’s.

The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, time management and organizational skills, will be highly motivated, self-directed and accountable, and will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff across the organization.

This position is on swing shift – 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Level 1:

  • Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical test equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance up to Semi-Annual PM’s.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics at 50%.
  • Complete some minor troubleshooting of problems related to our systems.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques
  • Detect, document, report and repair improper machine operation and faulty equipment.
  • Follow and perform emergency procedures regarding power failures
  • Diversify maintenance skills to allow for assignments in any work areas as required
  • Understand and certify in our LOTO program.
  • Effectively inform through verbal and written pass-downs your daily issues and actions.
  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs
  • Level 2

  • All of the above in Level 1
  • Perform preventative maintenance up to and including Annual PM’s
  • Set up preventative maintenance paperwork for new machinery in designated areas.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics without issue.
  • Provide leadership, training and direction when necessary to other maintenance technicians or machine operators.
  • Ability to determine the root cause for troubleshooting systems.
  • Provide some support to engineering in gathering requested information and beta testing some engineering projects.
  • Comfortable with speaking to a machine service engineer to gather information, report unusual issues and problems for resolution.
  • Provide leadership, training and direction when necessary to other maintenance technicians or machine operators
  • Level 3

  • All of the above in Level 2
  • Detect, document, report and resolve complex equipment issues resulting from defective materials and unusual conditions
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics and design improvements to the systems with new schematics.
  • Provide expert ability in determining root cause for troubleshooting systems.
  • Support engineering in their projects by providing expert resource support.
  • Write up new PM procedures and administer these through our document control.
  • Required Competencies & Knowledge:

    Knowledge of:

  • Company products and production processes
  • Standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of programmable controllers and their software’s
  • Skill in:
  • Problem solving using defined methodologies
  • Organization and time management
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems
  • HVAC and refrigerant systems
  • Fabrication and Welding
  • Ability to:
  • Open, understand and edit PLC programs
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Ensure collaborative relationships with Attune staff
  • Lead ‘best in class’ behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policies
  • Proficiency in: MS Office Suite, PM system tracking
