Attune Foods LLC, a part of 8th Avenue Food & Provisions, and a subsidiary of Post Holdings, Inc., is proudly located in the Pacific Northwest in beautiful Eugene, Oregon.

The Buyer is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of ingredients and/or materials to satisfy internal production requirements to support customer orders. The person in this position is accountable for generating and monitoring purchase orders based on previously negotiated contracts and service level agreements, and actively managing day-to-day supplier issues and relationships from an operational and tactical perspective. This will be demonstrated through ownership and personal accountability for overall performance of assigned purchase categories. Other responsibilities include monitoring and controlling costs and ensuring all ingredients and materials comply with product specifications and documented quality and service requirements.

The ideal candidate will also have strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, time management and organizational skills, will be highly motivated, self-directed and accountable, and will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff across the organization.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible to plan, execute, and manage the planning and procurement of materials required to support the manufacturing and packaging operations
  • Convert purchase requisitions and planned orders into purchase orders to be issued to approved suppliers
  • Develop and maintain targeted on-hand quantities of ingredients and/or materials while maximizing inventory turns
  • Monitor product expiration dates and execute stock transfers and disposal of expired ingredients and/or materials where applicable
  • Control costs by balancing demand request, inventory levels and supplier-based economic order quantities
  • Identify and resolve supply issues, costs overruns, service interruptions, and quality concerns.
  • Track, monitor and control spending, ensuring alignment with previously negotiated contract pricing and department budgets
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance, including quality, on-time delivery, fill rates and billing accuracy
  • Prepare and maintain additional reports as requested to support the procurement function.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify, promote, and execute continuous cost and performance improvement strategies
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Education & Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or higher
  • Previous experience in an analytical or project management type role
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Procurement, Finance/Accounting, or Supply Chain position
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Previous experience analyzing supplier proposals, conducting ROI’s and performing Make vs. Buy analysis.
  • Understanding of the Request For Proposal (RFP) process
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-managing individual
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language
