The Role…

The Sales Finance Manager will be a key Finance partner to Sales Planning to drive growth and profitability. Responsibilities include financial analysis support for sales, trade spend analytics, pricing, customer P&Ls, and new product P&Ls. Additionally, this role will be critical in the review and assessment of monthly/quarterly/annual results and preparation of volume and trade forecasts. This role will report to the Sr Director of FP&A.

Note: This position is currently remote-based due to the pandemic, but the person selected will need to be based within commuting distance of our Emeryville/Berkeley/Oakland border-based office when it reopens. We expect this position will have a combination of in-office and work from anywhere days each week once the office reopens. We expect that may happen mid-2021.

Forecast & Planning: 50% of Time

  • Responsible for Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Plan development and analysis (Net Sales)
  • Represent Sales Finance in IBP process (Demand Plan and SBU Reviews)
  • Provide deep analytics of volume, price, mix, and customer promotions
  • Provide bridges detailing drivers of change for Plan, Latest Estimate and ad-hoc requests
  • Calculate, consolidate and communicate sales risk and opportunities
  • Responsible for Quarterly Business Review analytics and content
  • Create ad-hoc monthly/quarterly outlooks
  • Analytics & Reporting (Monthly & Quarterly): 40% of Time

  • Responsible for variance analysis, waterfalls and commentary (Month/Quarter)
  • Responsible for the monthly Sales Management Letter
  • Partner with Sales Planning and Trade Accounting to align month-end trade: investigate expense and assist in accruals.
  • Develop turn-key Customer and Channel P&L models
  • Partner with Sales Planning on trade spend analytics to identify trade optimization opportunities
  • Model and analyze all pricing-related decisions and new business opportunities
  • Own master data management for Sales finance
  • Innovation of P&L: 10% of Time

  • New Product P&L: partnering with cross functional teams to understand assumptions around volume, pricing (trade, slotting, slopes, promoted product groups)
  • Provide New Product Risk and Opportunities
  • What are we looking for?

    Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Relevant Experience
  • Experience:

  • 6+ years of Finance experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Skills:

  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines
  • At ease presenting key results verbally, in writing and visually to larger audience
  • Effective in meeting management: clearly outlines purpose, keeps participants engaged and communicates follow-ups
  • Agile in Excel, NetSuite, and PowerPoint. Experience with Adaptive/Office Connect, o9, Blue Planner, Tableau a plus
