PNC is part of the Active Nutrition segment and is operated by its own senior leadership team, with publicly traded Post Holdings, Inc. (FY 2018 sales of $6.3 billion) as a parent company acting in a “private equity” capacity. Post Holdings’ Active Nutrition segment is a leader in providing innovative products that support healthy, active lifestyles with over $800 million in sales. Premier Nutrition utilizes a third-party network for manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution. Post Holdings is comprised of the Active Nutrition portfolio, which includes PNC, Dymatize, ­­­and Active Nutrition International (protein bars, shakes and powder products), Post Consumer Brands (cereals), Michael Foods (eggs, potato, cheese, and pasta), Weetabix (cereals), private label business groups, and Bob Evans Farms (a leader in frozen breakfast meats and vegetables).

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This role will lead a team of Business Systems Analysts whose top priorities are to be expert systems consultants and advisors for Premier Nutrition business, be the enterprise systems and application stewards (including higher level application support) and be strong partners with the business in developing future systems requirements.

The Director of Enterprise Applications will lead a small team of managers and analysts across ERP, EDI, SaaS, BI and MDM. This role is responsible for managing application vendor relationships along with managing the performance and relationship of the managed services providers under contract with Premier Nutrition.

This is a business facing role that requires the incumbent to influence business leaders at all levels to explore how key business capabilities can be supported or made more efficient through use of existing or new technology and systems. The Director must also provide strong leadership inside the IT organization to ensure the team is fulfilling its obligations regarding enterprise application ownership, escalated support issues and continuous improvement efforts. He/she must collaborate with other Directors and Managers to ensure initiatives are staffed and project timelines are maintained.

While this position will initially oversee the IT Applications team, the succession plan for the successful applicant for this role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT team across the enterprise under the direction of the CIO.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal IT Leadership (35%)

  • Oversees the daily operations of Oracle Netsuite and integrated edge applications such as Accu-image, Upclear, Adaptive Insights, & O9. This includes leading the change control process through a Change Advisory Board (CAB) to meet SOX audit compliance.
  • Provides design and operational support of ERP integration with Business Intelligence systems including the use of Tableau, Oracle, Snowflake, Informatica Cloud and Boomi.
  • Develops and/or approves application integration models along with supporting functional and technical documentation.
  • Ensures that Applications and Reporting projects are delivered on time, under budget and with quality.
  • Oversees SDLC and IT change processes, establishing service levels objectives and continuous improvement initiatives across application and reporting services.
  • Ability to develop and manage to department level budgets. Also accountable for P&L and Capital project spend under the areas of accountability listed above.
  • Manages, mentors, and develops the IT applications team. Fosters a customer-service focused culture and team.
  • Carries supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • External Leadership and Influence (35%)

  • Manages expectations and contract negotiations with outsourced managed service providers to manage their daily ERP and application-related activities against Premier Nutrition’s priorities.
  • Leads the application enhancement request process monthly and manages the enhancement estimates and timelines with business partners and the managed service providers.
  • Maintains a continuous improvement approach with managed service providers to optimize application performance and proactively avoid issues.
  • Drive alignment between IT and functional business leadership, creating a balanced portfolio of future projects and enhancement initiatives that is focused on driving Premier Nutrition strategy and goals.
  • Identify opportunities to better leverage existing tech investments.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership: (30%)

  • Establishes effective sourcing models, leveraging internal and external resources to efficiently and effectively deliver projects, changes, and operational support.
  • Identify digital business innovation/transformation opportunities.
  • Transform innovation business cases into actionable work by partnering with business leaders to build a funding mechanism into future budgeting cycles.
  • Promote and support identification and development of key business process Super User networks in support of major systems changes or M&A activity.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

  • Minimum BS/BA in a business or technology related field
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Experience:

  • 10+ years of hands-on management of IT Applications with responsibilities covering enterprise business applications (ERP), EDI, SaaS, MDM, and reporting systems. (CPG Industry strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience operating at senior-level (IT) positions, managing managers, and managing relationships and budgets with onshore and offshore service providers. Broad knowledge of IT concepts, methodologies, processes, policies and current IT industry trends.
  • 5+ years of experience with business requirements development.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Risk Management areas of Disaster recovery, Audit oversight, and documentation retention programs.
  • Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ERP, Master Data, EDI & Supply Chain (preferably within the CPG industry)
  • Leads through others and has a passion for developing strong talent
  • Demonstrated ability in defining complex business problems and working with key stake-holders to identify possible solutions.
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, and influencing skills with outside vendors to execute against large scale and highly visible projects.
  • Presentation & communication: Ability to influence, and experience presenting to, senior organization leadership.
