Our heritage stems back to the early 1990s when over 1,100 entrepreneurial farm families built our state-of-the-art durum mill and pasta manufacturing plant. We quickly grew to become the third largest pasta manufacturer in North America. Today, we are proud to be an 8th Avenue Food & Provisions company. We make over 150 pasta shapes from Acini de Pepe to Ziti Rigati in traditional, whole wheat, organic recipes and more! People across America and beyond enjoy our pasta daily in restaurants, at home and through convenience prepared meals.

Position Summary:

The Mill Utility is a valuable role for any food manufacturing business. Our Mill Utilities perform essential work for performing sanitation services in the mill and assisting in performing maintenance repairs. This role performs strenuous work ensuring safe and edible product is produced consistent with food safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs in-depth cleaning of assigned equipment, spouts, overheads and floors
  • Assists mill staff in cleaning chokes and working sifters
  • Assists mill staff with preventative maintenance and sifter repair on designated repair and fumigation dates
  • Maintains sanitation schedule and other HACCP documentation
  • Assist team members with sanitation efforts on unassigned machines, and maintain, and clean other areas, as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned
  • Education and Experience Required:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift up-to 10 pounds for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to lift 11 pounds up-to 50 pounds for 3+ hours per shift and anything over 50 pounds requires team assistance or mechanical lifting devices
  • Must be able to balance and sit for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform activities that require reaching above shoulders for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to climb and work off a ladder for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to feel and use fine motor skills for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to push and pull for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop and kneel for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to walk for 8+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in high heat/humidity for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to grasp for 8+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word
  • Must be able to distinguish object or equipment visually
